Yugadi
was celebrated by Kannadigas in Milwaukee as the beginning of
the New Year It was a festive occasion. This Yugadi was
dedicated to the Founders of Milana Kannada Koota.
- Smt Shanta Jhansale sang the invocation
- Sri Raghuchandra Bhatt read the Panchanga Shravana (Forecast
for the year)
- We welcomed the New Year listening to songs and dances from
Ananya, Ayesha, Spurthi, Aaroh and others
- Odissi Dance by Shambavi and Lord Shiva dance by Indrani was
superb.
- We ate Beevu Bella ( Bitter and Sweet) to represent the mix
of what is to come
- The variety entertainment kept the audience spell bound.
- A Quiz competition on Karnataka for kids was a hit
- The founders were felicitated on the stage and clips of videos
of old Kannada movies were played
- An art competition was conducted.
- Yummy Karnataka menu such as Ambode, Majjigehuli, mavinkayi
chitranna was topped off with holige and payisa
- It was truly a great Yugadi festival
