Milana Kannada Koota of Wisconsin

2009 Deepawali was a blast. (here are the pictures). This event was dedicated to the Flood relief efforts in North East Karnataka and the members collected more than $1000 towards this. Milana will be working with Akka on the execution. Here is the donor list. It is not too late to donate.

The star of the evening was Suraksha who starred with Radhika Srivatsava in "Baaro Krishnayya", a dance choreographed by Kripa Bhaskaran. Divya, Pavani and Rekha sizzled the audience with their bollywood style dance. The Natyarpana group thrilled the audience with the "Shiva Tandava" dance performed by the kids. Aiesha Anchan was superb with her rendition of Bhajagovindam. Ananya Rajesh's "Aralyva Hoovugale" was superb. The Ladies fashion show was a superhit with 3 generations participating in the fashion show. Balaji and friends brought down the house with their hilarious dance and Mad Ads. (Mad Ads2). A Kannada play called "Uppachara" was played by Usha Nanda, Vinaya Pai and Madhu Nandakumar.

The food was catered and it was delicious with a mix of vegetable biriyani, vada and cutlet. Dr Poornima sponsored the Mysore Pak and Gayathri foods sponsored the Laadu.
