Lord Ganesh, Ganapathi, Vigneshwara, Vinayaka, the remover of obstacles, the Lord of beginnings, the patron of arts and sciences, the deva of intellect and wisdom, offered members of Milana blessings for their success.

This God of knowledge and the remover of obstacles is also the older son of Lord Shiva. Lord Ganesha is also called Vinayak ( knowledgeable ) or Vighneshwer (god to remove obstacles). He is worshipped, or at least remembered, in the beginning of any auspicious performance for blessings and auspiciousness.

The event on Aug 23rd was a great success. The venue was sponsored by Smt Soumya and Shashank Partha from Madison. The preperation started a day earlier with preparation of Kadabu by the committee members.

Sri Raghuchandra Bhat performed the Gowri pooja with the ladies followed by the Ganesha Pooja. Songs of devotion and Bhajans were performed by the members followed by delicious lunch.

Every year as far back as we can remember, a clay model of Lord Ganesha is prepared with help from Dr Shivaram. We thank him for this.
